A SUCCESSFUL SHOW.
FRANKLEIGH PARK’S EFFORTS MONEY TO COMPLETE HALL. As a result of the efforts of. the Frankleigh Park chrysanthemum show committee extending over the first ye<f of its existence, a highly satisfactory financial position was revealed at the first annual meeting held in the hall (his week. It was decided to hand the profits over to the Lail committee, who will utilise the money in liquidating the debt on the building. It was reported that the gross takings amounted to £2B 18s sd, and the expenditure to £ll 8» sd, leaving a ci edit balance of £l7 10s, which for the initial effort was considered highly satisfactory. .Had the weather been more favourable it was expected that the takings would have been considerably larger.
The officers and committee of the previous year were re-elected. Thanks were accorded to numerous donors for their generous assistance, to the judges for their valuable aid, and to the hall committee for the use of ths hall. The president also thanked members of the committee for their interest and energy, which had largely contributed to the splendid success of their first show.
