BOWLERS’ SOCIAL. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Inglewood, June 19. The annual complimentary social given by the Inglewood bowlers to their wives and lady helpers took place in the Town Hall last evening, when there whs a good attendance. The card room was well filled, there 'being twentythree tables engaged in playing euchre, no doubt the attraction 'being the very good prizes offered. The successful players were: Ladies, Mrs. W. Julian 1 (ham), Miss Scott 2 (251 b. flour), Mrs. N. King, cut prize (leg mutton). Gentlemen: Mr. N. King 1 (ham), Air. E. Schicker 2 (251 b. flour), Mr. E. Spurdie, cut prize (leg mutton). The dance floor was in good order and the music, supplied by Mr. Murfitt’s orchestra, was of the best, which resulted in a good evening’s amusement for the dancers. Supper was provided by Air. Perry, and Mr. E. Henderson acted as AI.C. FIRE BRIGADE BILLIARD TOURNEY. The following is the handicapping for the competitors in the billiard tournament, to be played at the fire station: F. Spurdie 150 points behind scratch; L. O’Neill, A. Kirk, J. Sutherland and R. Darlow 100; W. Eagar 90; H. Julian 75; J. Allan, W. Carrington, and N. James 60; J. Eversfield, Tap O’Neill, E. Crossman, J. Burnip, AV. Smith, I. Bublitz, J. W. Winfield and C. Ladbrook 50; N. Ross, J. Brooks, L. Carmine, J. Penn, N. Roberts, J. Hook, 11. Mamby, H. Clough, C. Hamerton, R. J. Fiew'in, and R. Ixmgshaw 25; M. James, A. Gillni, T. A. Kennedy, W. Devereux, D. Owen, W. Life, and R. Fawcett 20; U. McCormick, F. Rusby and T. Lindsay 15; P. Harland scratch.

FOOTBALL MATCH. A day or two ago Inglewood footballers were notified that the original arrangement for to-morrow’s match had been cancelled, and that they were to meet Tukapa at New Plymouth instead. This short notice was rather unfavourably received, but the ■committee got busy, and I am pleased to be able to report that a good team has been gathered. and that the match will take place.
