At the Supreme Court to-day Clive Argyle Wood, on three chargee of forgery, was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment on each charge, the sentence! to be cumulative. The prisoner, who has been already sentenced for a similar offence In the north, was described ae an expert in hand-writing. Mr. Justice Sim said this was another illustration ot the way such offence® were being committed by reason ot cashing big cheques for aosolute strangers. He could not sympathise with them.
