TOWN PLANNING.

■REQUEST FOR COMMISSION. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, June 17. A request that the Government should appoint a town-planner and town-plan-ning commission and prepare legislation on town-planning as soon as possible was laid before the Minister for Internal,. Affairs (Mr. Bollard) and the Minister for Lands (Mr. McLeod) this morning by a deputation representative of the Institute of Architects, Civil Engineers and Surveyors.

In reply, Mr. Bollard was sympathetic, but could hold out no hope of any legislation being submitted this session to Parliament.
