Paris, June 14, In the Davis Cup games, France v. Italy, Brughnon and Laeoste beat Morpurgo and Colombo 6-1, 6-1, 6-1. France now plays England in the semi-finals of the European zone, probably at Eastbourne, in July. HOLLAND V. SWEDEN. Amsterdam, June 14. In the Holland v. Sweden Davis Cup contest, Van Lennep Diemerkool beat: Wallenberg Von Braun 3-6, 6-1, 6-4, 9-7.' PvOTOKARE CLUB. Another step towards the progress of Westown and the tennis world has just recently taken place, the Rotokare Tennis Club having purchased new playing grounds, situated just opposite the new Westown Hall on Walsh Road. The ground is sufficient for five double courts and room for a paladium. It is almost level and requires very little setting out. The club has commenced holding working bees each week-end. Mr. V. C. Davies has very generously donated trees to go right round the ground. Mr. Davies has rendered the club a good deal of assistance since the club’s institution. The club has now a membership of about thirty-five to forty, and, according to the inquiries since the purchase of the ground, indications point to a good and substantial increase in membership for the coming season. The committee wish to thank all persons who so generously assisted the club in their big undertakings by giving donations.
