CEREMONY TO-DAY.

FUNCTION IN EVENING. To-day the Hawera School celebrates its jubilee, and the function that has been arranged to mark the event promises to be a most interesting one. Energetic committees have been working for weeks, sending out invitations to old pupils and on general organisation work. The general arrangements have been in the hands of Mrs. J. P. Page (honorary secretary), who has worked assiduously to make the function a success, aided, of course, by a host of willing helpers.

Tn the evening, at the Winter Show buildings, the celebration will take the form of a social and dance. At the social speeches will be made. The school will be open to-day to old pupils and other visitors, who will be received bv the headmaster, Mr. E. A. Bates,
