The cricket matches resulted as follows: Hampshire made 205 and 263 against Surrey. In the first innings Fender took five wickets for 53. Surrey made 263 I (Fender 76) and 163 for eight wickeds. In the first innings Boyes took six wickets for 79 and in the second five for 50 Playing Somerset, Kent declared with eight wickets down for 548 (Hardings I 50, Wright 50, Woolley 215, Hubble 124, Hearne 54). Somerset’s first Innings produced 141, Freeman taking four wickets for 30 and Woolley five for 72. , In the second innings Somerset made i 238 (Johnson 81). Five wickets fell to Freeman for 50 runs. Batting against Nottingham, Sussex made 139 in the first innings, Richmond taking five wickets for 40. The'second innings produced 103, Barratt taking three wickets for 33, Staples three for 25, and Richmond four for 39. Nottingham made 267 (Carr 103).
