' LADIES’ RECORD BROKEN. •220 YARDS BREASTSTROKE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. Miss G. Pidgeon, at a swimming carnival to-night, lowered her own Dominion breaststroke record for 220 yards by ssee. to 2min. 43sec. Attempts by Miss Stockley on the 100 metres ladies’ record and N. C. Stockley on the 100 metres backstroke record failed by 2-ssec. ami l-ssec. respectively. A. Baird failed to lower the halfmile record by 4 4-ssee.
