AUCKLAND REPLY WITH 2S& A most enjoyable day's outuig wet the result of the Auckland representative cricket team’s uvieit to Tikorangi yesterday when they.defeated the North Taranaki Country Association by 132 ■ runs in a one-innings match. Country batted first and made to which Auckland replied with 25'8. Country had lost three wickets for 36 rune in a second innings when stumps were drawn. The outstanding batting performances in the Country team were those of Gibson and Sarten. Th© former flayed almost throughout the innings for a careful but meritorious 40, while the I latter hit hard from the start and umile 35, including three sixes, before being clean bowled by Alleott. Giddy played a very patient inniqg© for 12. Auckland scored ireely from the ©tart of their innings, and 237 runs were up before tlie seventh wicket fell.
