SOUTH TARANAKI BOWLING. POST SECTION PLAY. ■ NEARING A CONCLUSION. (From Our Own Reporter.) Hawera, April 14. The fourth day of the South Taranaki Easter bowling tournament to-day produced some excellent play and provided a number of spectators with a pleasing exhibition of bowling. The second round of the post-sectional play resulted in Douglas (West End), Mason (Pihama) and Davidson (Vogeltown) losing their second “lives,” and dropping out of the tournament. The rinks, Champion v. Robb and Douglas v. A’Court, each resulted in a tie on the 21st head, and on a further head being played Champion and A’Court each had a win. The results of the second round of the post-sectional play were: — Winners of first round. Smart 15 v. Beal 17. Johnson 10 v. Foy 22. Champion 21 v. Robb 20. Losers of first round. Douglas 19 v. A’Court 21. Mason 17 v. Bruce 20. Davidson 17 v. Quin 19. Beal, Champion and Foy each finished the second round with two lives while A. K. Smart, N. Johnson, Robb, A’Court, Bruce and Quin had one each. Third Round. The third round produced some very closely contested games and resulted in the extinction of A’Court and Johnson. On the 21st head Quin and Beal tied 16 all, and on the extra head Quin was one up. The results were: — Champion 31 v. Foy 9. Quin 17 v. Beal 16. Smart 28 v. A’Court 10. Johnson 11 v. Robb 25. Bruce a bye. Champion ended the round with two lives, while Foy, Beal, Robb, Smart, Quin and Bruce had one each. ri Fourth Round. As a result of the fourth round Bruce, Foy and Beal dropped out of the competition, leaving Champion with two lives ! and Robb, A. K. Smart and Quin with one life each. The round resulted:— Robb 21 v. Bruce 16. Foy 13 v. Quin- 18; A. K. Smart 22 v. Beal 20. Champion a bye. Fifth Round.' The draw for to-morrow is:—
