A FALLEN IDOL.
CAMPAIGN AGAINST TROTSKY. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Dee. 21. The Riga correspondent of The Times says that the Soviet triumvirate has commenced a new and bitter campaign against Trotsky, with the object of, depriving him permanently of all real power. Trotsky was recently officially declared ill and ordered to seek a warmer climate, but he i* apparently still in Moscow. The triumvirate, who so far has only attacked Trotsky’s political activities, is now assailing his reputation as the organiser and leader of the Red Army.
A special pamphlet has been issued in wjiich.i.t is etated that Trotsky’s military merits are a mere myth, and that he has continually caused unnecessary friction. Trotsky is wholly unable to reply to these new attacks since the Soviet press has been, again ordered to boycott him.
