OWNERS REFUSE REDUCTION. London. De<i. 6. The shipowners have refused thp overtures made by Mr. A. R. Hassan, of the Australian Meat Council, to reopen the question of making a reduction in freights on produce from Aiisti l aljia. Early in November the shipowi 6rs, in refusing a reduction, said ' that they were losing money owing to tlie high port charges in Australia, especially stevedoring. . I In answer to Mr. - Hassan, shipowners decline to state the percentages of State and Federal charges an-1 their total earnings. .
