WEDDING

PIGOTT—JONAS. A very pretty wedding was solemnised on Thursday, November 20, at St. Paul’s Church, Ur?nui, when Mary Stacey, second daughter of Mrs. and the late Mr. W. K. Jonas, “Annandale,” Onaero, was married to Gerald Robert, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Pigott, “Sunny Brae,” Urenui. The Rev. G. H. Gavin officiated at the ceremony. The church was prettily decorated with pink and white flowers. Mrs. Thompson presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr. Hugh Purdie, looked chaiming in a lovely white satin morocain with veil and orange blossom prettily arranged and carried a beautiful bouquet of choice white flowers. The bridesmaid, Miss Florence Jonas, was attractively gowned in heliotrope brocaded georgette with hat to match and heliotrope and white bouquet the gifts of Misses Tale, Waitara. Mr. Willie Pigott carried out the duties of best man. A reception was afterwards held at “Arrandale,” the residence of the bride’s mother, the tables looking very attractive. Many relatives wene present and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent, the usual toasts being honoured and good wishes expressed. The bridegroom’s gi<f to the bride was a gold wristlet watch, and to the bridesmaid a gold bangle. The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a suit case. Later the happy couple left by car for their home at Kaipikari, the bride wearing a smart navy gabardine costume, fawn satin morocain hat and oppossum stole. The presents were numerous, including several cheques.
