ATTEMPTED MURDER.

FIFTEEN YEARS’ GAOL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, Nov. 21. In the Supreme Court this morning John Edward Jeffreys was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment for having attempted to murder his wife by pushing her over the cliff at Glen Tui. Mr. Justice Adams said he was satisfied prisoner did not act on a sudden or uncontrollable impulse. The whole of the circumstances indicated that it was a carefully thought out plan.
