PORT CHALMERS THIS MORNING. The Port Chalmers is due from Bluff about 5.30 this morning to load frozen meat for Genoa. She has 30,000 freight carcases from the Waitara works to take in, and a small consignment from the Patea works. From here she proceeds to Wellington, her final loading port, and Napier. The Port Chalmers is a vessel of 6534 tons register under the command of Captain A. E. Jolly. The steamer loaded at New York and cleared that port on September 25. She cleared Panama on October 5 and had a fair weather voyage across the Pacific, with the exception of strong westerly winds when nearing the New Zealand coast. Captain Jolly has with him the following officers: Chief, Mr. J. B. Bradley; second, Mr. A. E. Fishwick; third, Mr. E. A. Beamish; fourth, Mr. J. B. Watson; chief engineer, Mr. J. Young; second, Mr. T. Stirk; third, Mr. A. ‘Williams; fourth, Mr. J. O. Moffett; fifth, Mr. R. W. Ralph; chief refrigerating engineer, Mr. J. S. Blackie ; second. Mr. F. W. Coghlan; chief steward, Mr. D. V. Williams; first wireless operator, Mr. A. W. Box; second, Mr. A. S. Patterson.
PHYSA DUE NEXT MONTH. Information received on Thursday stated that the Physa was expected at New Plymouth next Monday. This has since been found to be incorrect, as the steamer is not due until the middle of next month. CARGO FROM AUSTRALIA. Advice has been received that the Koromiko Is scheduled to load at Newcastle and Port Stephens during the first week in December for Wellington and New Plymouth. She should arrive here about the middle of December, BREEZE SAILS FOR WANGANUI. Discharge of the coal cargo from the Breeze was completed yesterday morning, and the vessel sailed at 11 ©’clock for Wanganui. TITOKI LEAVES WESTPORT. The Titoki sailed from Westport at G o’clock last night for New Plymouth with GOO tons of coal. She should arrive this evening. ONEHUNGA SERVICE. The Ngapuhi arrived from Onehunga early yesterday morning with passengers and general cargo, sailing north again at 7.40 in the evening. She is due back on Tuesday morning. NEW UNION VESSELS. The Union Steam Ship Company has ordered an oil tanker to replace the Orowaiti, whicn was wrecked on the Californian coast. The new vessel will have a carrying capacity of 10,000 tons, and will be driven by Diesel engines. She will be able to load and discharge oil at the rate of between 700 and 800 tons per hour, and will have the latest ideas in oil tankers. Another vessel has also been ordered to replace the Armagh, wrecked at Liverpool on December IG, 1923. This order calls for a motor vessel of 12,000 tons, and will also be one with all the latest ideas for handling cargo with rapidity. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. ARRIVED.
