MR. FORD’S HUGE IAX, Washington, Oot. 24. Mr. Henry Fowl and his comipany and family have paid the Government H. ,000,000 dollars (nearly £3,<800,000) in Income tax, thus creatdng a world’s record in this direction. Mr. Ford, on his own personal income, paid £<500,000, his son, Edsel, £400,000, and the Ford companies the remainder. Mr. John Rockfeller, jun., paid £ 1,500,000. The earnings of Mr. Douglas Fairbanks, t?he screen star, are amazing, for he paid £45,000. Mr. Charlie Chaplin handed over £l2OO, while Mr. Julius Sleischmann, the “yelast king,” and an ex-Mayor of Cineinaltbi, .paid £ I'oo,ooo.
