JERSEY CATTLE.

PEDIGREE STOCK SALE. NO GREAT DEMAND. (From Our Own Reporter.) Hawera, Nov. 20. A eale of pedigree Jersey stock, exhibited at the show, w’as held at the show-grounds to-day by the Farmers' Co-operative Organisation Society, on behalf of Mr. John Niooleon, of Hawera, Mr. C. Trotter being the auctioneer. Although a large number attended, the cattle, which were of choice quality, did not realise the price® expected, and a number were passed in. Mr. Nicolson's sales were as follows: Hero’s Lady Viola, born July, 1920, by Holly Bank Hero—Lady Binnie. —W. Reynolds, Wliareroa, 24 guineas. Turpin's Golden Gem, born August, 101(1, by Dick Turpin—Combination Jersey Queen.— R- G. Seown, Kakaraniea. 33 guineas. Lady Beta, bora August, 1919, by Jessie’s Register of Melrose —Lady Binnie.—R. S. Seown. Ball Road, 50 guineas; hef bull calf, born July 8, 11*24, Mr. R. S. Seown, 11 guineas. On account of other vendors two pedigree Jersey heifers were sold for 18 and 19 guineas respectively, and the Jersey bull Kauehet’s Great Hope, reserve champion at the show, was passed in at 80 guineas, and two -other Jersey cows, Meleta (Jessie’s Register'of Melrose —Bilberry’s Maid) and Bay View Lass (Peggie's Campanile—Passion Flewer’s Lass) were passed in at 1(H) guineas. The bull calf of the latter was sold to Air. R. Bremmer, of AA'averley. for 25 guineas, while the bull calf of Holly Bank Lass (Oakland’s Squire Mahone—Bay View Lass) was sold to R. G. Seown’for 15 guineas. On account of Mr. G. IL Looney, the Ayrshire bull, which took the second prize at the show, Lottery of Waipapa (Alexander of Waipapa —Lottie of Waipapa) was sold to Borthwick’s, Ltd. for 7 guineas. After the pedigree sale a number of fat cattle were sold at the best current prices.
