THE ROYAL SHOW.
DELAY IN MAKING AWARDS. By Telegraph—Press Association. s Palmerston N., Last Night. In answering Press complaints relative to the conduct cf the recent Royal Show, Mr. J. A. Nash, M.P., (president of the • Manawatu A. and P. Association) at a meeting to-day said that, although some of the criticism levelled at the association regarding the delay in the reception of results by the Press and the arrival of stock was 'admitted, much difficulty was experienced in securing, stock on time for judging on account of the slips on the railway line to Hawke’s Bay and the late arrival of come judges. The Railway Department -had done everything possible, but the arrangements had been much upset. Mr. J. M. Johnston (treasurer of the association) declared that some criticism from Christchurch was inspired by jealousy, and he refused to’ withdraw this statement. He declared that criticism, as far as the stewards were concerned, was unfounded. A resolution that the stewards confer and report on improvements for the future was carried.
