Goldwater Bros., wine and spirit merchants. The new building, which will liave*&R tho amenities of a modern warehouse, will be situated on the Daily News -side of the river, and will have entrances from Powderham Street and Currie Lane. The basemen is to be -os a level with the foot of Carrie Lane, and access will be had to it . through a metal rolling door, which open on to a loading platform. ’ The basement is to be used as the bottling and the next floor wiH -be used as the bond. The third floor Will -be on a level with Powderham Street, and . here the offices of the firm will be situated. . Part of this floor, as well aa the top floor, will also be used as * store. A lift will connect all the floors, and there will also be, of course, a staircase. In designing the building the architect (Mr. Thos. H. Bates) has combined utility and beauty, for with its pta»tered front and steel frame wmdowo the building will have a decidedly attractive appearance. On the ’ Powderham Street front there are to be tww doors, the left one leading to the-’officea. In -between the doors there will be big frame windows, while the top floor wHI be almost wholly composed of- glass. . The back of the building will be gtaM from top to bottom except for the necessary supporting beams, franftea, etc
It is hoped to commence btnkUog operations at an .early date and <o harie the warehouse completed about thetaid dl© of next year. J
