TARANAKI MARKET REPORT. Messrs. Newton King, Ltd., report:— At our haymarket sale on Saturday there was only a medium yarding of pigs owing to the boisterous weather. Quotations: Medium stores £2 6s, good weaners 31s. medium weaners 22s to 265, small and backward weaners 14s to 16s 6d. We also offered about 2000 feet of timber, which sold at. about £1 per 100. Another truck load will be offered next Saturday. A horse fair was held on Saturday, when a | fair number of very good sorts were offered. The demand for real good farm horses was In excels of the supply. Quotations: Good half-draught all-round farm horses £37 10s. £4O, £43, £45, lighter sorts £l2, £lB to £25, waggon £34. At Urenui yesterday we had a good yarding of all classes and report an Unproved sale *or practically all lines. Yearling heifers, those showing the Jersey strain especially, strengthened considerably on latj* sales, likewise 2-year empty and young store cows, store and fresh conditioned bullocks maintained their usual steady demand. FARMERS’ CO-OP. On Saturday, at the Hawera yards, we conducted a sale of dairy heifers. About 70 heifers were yarded and we report a total clearance at the hammer. Buyers were present and competition was good throughout. Best price for good quality dark Jersey heifer Sl4, others at. £8 10s, £10; good heifer.* but more backward or not so good quality to £7 10s. The average obtained over the yarding was about £7 .15s. At Stratford on Saturday, at our yards, on account of Hobbs Estate. Moore and Tnnks, wc conducted one of the most successful dairy sales which have been held this year. The cows were In good condition and showed a gr.od deal of quality. Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd. have received the following cablegram from their London house unde: date 26 th Instant:— New Zealand frozen meat.—Lamb: 12 l-8d per lb. (average).
