The measurements of temperature and heat radiation were made with a vacuum tnermo-couple attached to the 100-inch reflecting telescope. The measurements indicate that the tropical region in .Mars at noon is 10 degrees above freezing, and the mean temperature over the polar cap 95 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. The average temperature of the tropics between the Martian sunrise and nine o’clock is 10 degrees above zero. The maximum heat radiation comes at noon.
