JAPAN’S ARMAMENTS
NECESSARY REDUCTION. Geneva, Sept. 10. Japan has notified the League of Nations that the earthquake has necessitated a reduction in the expenditure on armaments to the minimum. Nevertheless, while remaining faithful to the new policy of a decrease in her military burdens, s'he hopes, as her finances improve, to restore her present armament losses.
