ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
BOTH THIGHS CRUSHED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Te Awamutu, Sept. 23. AVliile unloading heavy machinery from a lorry at the New Zealand Dairy Company’s new butter factory at Te Awamutu yesterday afternoon a man named Crabb, a member of the engineering staff, 'sustained very severe injuries. The staff were sliding the machinery on rollers down inclined planks when one plank slipped, the machinery crushing Crabb’s thighs. He was removed to the Waikato hospital. GASHED WITH A KNIFE. Te Awamutu, Sept. 23. Yesterday afternoon Lacey Peake, well-known farmer at Hairind, was skinning a calf when tie knife slipped, inflicting a nasty gash on his forearm. He lost a eonsider&ble amount of blood, but his condition was satisfactory today.
