IRISH BOUNDARIES.
DIFFICULTIES INCREASED’. SIR JAMES CRAIG READY. Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, Sept. 17. The Dublin correspondent of the Daily Telegraph states that Northern Ireland’s refusal to nominate a delegate on the Boundary Commission has intensified the Free State's difficulties. The position of the Cosgrave Ministry is critical, as they led a large section of Irish opinion to believe that the treaty contemplated the transfer of large areas of l ister to the Free State. Mr. Cosgrave’s followers are now looking for the delivery of the goods. Mr. CoAgrave’s supporters admit that the commission’s findings may cause disappointment, and the man who first denounces the treaty on the public platform will secure a weighty following. Apart from the boundary issue, the army trouble has been only gioSsed over and .not settled. Republican secret societies are working within the army, seeking to force the Government’s hand in order to secure an independent republic.
HAMPERING PEACE EFFORTS. DENTAL BY SIR JAMES CRAIG. London, Sept. IS. Sir James Craig denies that he is in anywise hampering any peace efforts Mr. MacDonald may have undertaken in the hope of settling the boundary question by consent. On the other hand. Sir James Craig has repeatedly declared his readiness to settle the matter by mutual agreement, but Mr. Cosgrave as yet had not responded to his overtures. If any peace moves were being made behind the scenes Sir James Craig had not been consulted. He had received no communication whatsoever from Mr. MacDonald since the {unending Bill was introduced.
