“THROWN ON ONE SIDE” POST OFFICE INCIDENT. By Telecraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Made up as an ordinary registered parcel in the form of a paper consignment, £3OOO in gold from the West Coast to a Wellington bank was mistaken during sorting at the Wellington Post Office for a parcel of lead for letterbag seals and was thrown on one side with empty bags and sent to the telegraph stores, ft was discovered by a checking clerk at the stores, returned to the G.P.O. and delivered to the bank next day.
