EX-SERVICE MEN.

Eighty ex-service men, representing nine Allied countries, dielegates to me Fidac Federation inter-Allies des Ancions Combattants Congress, which is being held in London for the first time, placed a floral crown at the base of the cenotaph while a large crowd stood bareheaded for two minutes, Subsequently the congress sent a message of homage to the King, exp-reeding sincere appreciation of His Majesty’s devotion to the cause of peace. Mr. Lister, chairman of the British legion, read messages from Canada, Soutli Africa, Rhodesia, India, Burma and Malaya wishing success to the conference.

Mr. Bertrand, the president, delivered a speech in French, stressing that their task was to protect the victims of the war and promote peace.
