Results:— A Section.—Marlborough drew with Nelson A, one all. B Section.— Manawatu 3 defeated Buller t. Nelson. Last Night. The best game In the hockey tournament so far was that this afternoon between Southland and Runhlne, which ended In a draw. Ruahlne proved to be a clever team on their game, and Southland was rather fortunate to come out unbeaten. The play was exceedingly fast and exciting, the northerners being the first to score, which they did soon after the commencement of the second spell, and ten minutes before the end Southland evened up, the game ending one all. Additional results were: Hawke’s Bay beat Nelson B by 10 goals to 1 (A Section), ana Wellington beat Eastern by 2 to nil (B Section). THE DOMINION TOURNAMENT. Christchurch, Last NightThe New Zealand Hockey Association’s annual tournament opened at Lancaster Park this afternoon. The weather was fine but the ground was rough. Auckland beat Canterbury P. by two goals to one. The visitors had the better of the game all the way. Canterbury A beat Wellington by two goals to nil after a good exhibition. The tournament will be continued on Thursday.
