The tallow stocks total 4468 casks, the imports during August being 1638 and deliveries 1938. LOAN FOR BELGIUM. Received Sept. 2, 5.5 p.m. Brussels, Sept. I. The Government has arranged a 6% per cent, loan of 30,000,000 dollars from the United States, redeemable in twenty-five years. It is stated that the loan is to be utilised for withdrawing Treasury bonds Issued in the United States in 1920. LONDON MARKETS. HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLED REPORT. The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated August 30, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London:— BUTTER. Market very dull. Unsalted practically cleared. Official quotations are New Zealand.—Salted, finest: 204 s to 208 s per cwt. (Is 9%d to Is 10%d per lb.). Unsalted: 220 s per cwt. (Is per lb.). Other qualities, salted, 196 s to 200 s per cwt. (is 9d to Is 9%d per lb.). Australian.—Salted, finest: 200 s to 202 s per cwt. (Is 9%d per lb.). Other qualities: 176 s to 196 s per cwt. (Is 6%d to In 9d per lb.). Argentine.—Unsalted: 196 s to 200 s per cwt. (Is 9d to Is per lb.). Other qualities: 182 s to 192 s per cwt. (Is to Is per lb.). Irish.—Salted: 196 s to 198 s per cwt. (Is 9<r to Is 9%d per lb.). Tho Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, have received the following cablegram from their London house under date August 30:—Lamb: 12d per lb.
