THE SPIRIT WORLD.

CONVERSE WITH LENIN. HAUNTS LONDON HOUSE. CONAN DOYLE’S CLAIM. Received May 30, 9/25 p.m. London, May 30. The Daily Express publishes a remarkable article by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle,.recounting his experiences in an old house close to Piccadilly Circus, where a young woman employed there stated that she had heard rappings and seen the figure of an elderly man. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, accompanied by two seers, the Rev. Vale Owen and a physician, and others, sat in the lower room. The seers stated that they saw a figure, bearded, with slit eyes and cunning expression, who, when asked, moved the table sharply. When the right letter of the alphabet was named the spirit gave out the letters forming the word “Lenin” and the sentence: “Artists must rouse selfish nations.” Afterwards the spirit through a medium sent a message expressing a desire that Russia and Britain should be friends, with the warning that unless they come to terms they would drift towards war, in which Russia was very strong. The spirit was asked why it was haunting the house? Was it remorse for deeds done? The spirit replied: “Yes.” Sir Arthur Conan Doyle begged the spirit to cease to annoy innocent people and strive for higher things. Sir Arthur concludes: “I am not sure of the doctor’s conclusion but the others are convinced. We were in touch with a real entity with a real message.”
