FRESH OFFER TO BRITAIN. By Telegraph—Preaa Assn.—Copyright. Received May 22, 7.45 p.m. London, May 22. The Daily Express says that Mr. Grindell Matthews has placed his death ray discovery before the War Office, and has undertaken not to dispose of it until official tests are made.

A few days ago Mr. Matthews announced that he had practically accepted the offer of a French firm to exploit his death rays. The British Government was interested, but no more, he said, and this princely offer he could not refuse. The Chantiers du Rhone, a well-known firm, had placed big laboratories at the inventor’s disposal for experiments, and had offered him a partnership.
