The amateur rule committee of the United States National Lawn Tennis Association has issued a report asking 'the association to declare that any player who engages in a tennis tournament concurrently with writing tennis articles for compensation is not an amateur. The committee’s lengthy report condemns the practice existing among a group of leading American tennis players of making a complete living from writing about tennis, and points out that a player must make a living from some regular business and play tennis for pleasure and exercise. The report furthermore stresses that those few who make easy money by writing have a great advantage over players who can devote only their leisure to tennis. WAITARA v. URUTI.
