EVERYBODY’S. MATINEE TO-DAY AT 2 P.M. The big attraction at this afternoon’s matinee at the above theatre will be “Bell Boy 13,” starring Douglas Mac Lean. Other films will include a Mack Sennett comedy, cartoon and topicals. Admission prices are advertised. To-night at Everybody’s two big comedy attractions, “Bell Boy 13„ and “Polly with a Past,” will be screened for the last time. In “Bell Boy 13,” Thomas Ince has produced a nevr type of comedy farce. It breaks away from the old slapstick class, and has instead complications, novel “gags” and clever charaVerisaitions, that ©all forth gigles, chuckles and roars. Douglas MficLean of “The Hottentot” fame is the star. “Polly with a Past” is a screen version of David Belasco’s stage success. Ina Claire and Ralph Graves head the cost. The programme screens finally to-night. Box plan arrangements are advertised. “The Dangerous Age’’ starring Lewis Stone is the big attraction for Monday’s change of programme. THE PEOPLE’S. MATINEE TO-DAY AT 2 P.M. “The Lure of Egypt,” a thrilling ! and mysterious photodrama based on Norma Lorimer’s novel, “There Was a King in Egypt,” is the attraction at both sessions to-day at the People’s. It is a modern story of Cairo, the exotic, bizarre capital of Egypt, and of the Libyan and Thebian deserts, where ruins of cities that existed thousands of years ago are buried under the sand. Against this colourful and exotic background is enacted a charming romance that involves an archaeologist and his lovely daughter, an artist, a Balkan prince, and an adventuress. “The Lure of Egypt” is enacted by a splendid all-star cast. Robert McKim, Claire Adams and Joseph J. Dowling are prominently cast. An attractive supporting programme is advertised. Admission prices at the People's are 9d and Is 3d. Intending patrons are advised to be early.
EMPIRE THEATRE.
“DARK SECRETS. A most interesting and entertaining programme of Paramount pictures was screened last night at the Empire. “Dark Secrets" heads the bill, and in it Dorothy Dalton gives of her best. It is a picture crowded with thrills, adventure, and romance. As in all Paramount productions the scenery' is magnificent, and some of the dresses worn by the ladies are gorgeous. The picture has an exotic background, the locale of the story being divided between Cairo, Egypt, rich in Oriental colour, and Long Island with its fashionable homes of the rich. Robert Ellis is leading man. The supporting films include a Chas. Murray comedy, travelogue and topicals. The programme screens finally to-night. Admission prices' are exceedingly low, viz., Is, fid, and 6d for children.
