FRANCE’S ARMY.
REDUCED PERIOD OF SERVICE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London. Jan. 3. The Paris correspondent of the Daily Mail states- that consequent on the reduction of the period of conscription to eighteen months, the army has ’been reorganised. One hundred and seventeen battalions and seventeen regiments of horse-drawn and four of mechanically propelled artillery have been disbanded. Several regiments of tanks and in the aii services have been created.
