LEVEL CROSSING FATALITY.

TRAIN STRIKES MOTOR LORRY. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Last Night. An outward bound train for Swanson crashed into a motor lorry at the Blake Street crossing at Avondale to-night. The front of the lorry was wrecked, the driver sustained serious concussion, while a passenger, who was his brother, was killed. The driver, before becoming unconscious, indicated that the dead man was Jack Griffen, while the police understand he said his own name was William Griffin. Deceased was about 35 years of a<re. The crossing is a dangerous one without a wanting bell.
