EVERYBO»Y’S. BIG DOUBLE PROGRAMME. A 'big holiday attraction is advertised by Everybody’s management for tonight and to-morro'w. The double feature programme is headed by “The Top of New York,” starring May McAvoy, and the second feature is “The Love Charm,” a comedy drama starring Wandii Hawley. One of the ifinest screen romances of the season is May McAvoy’s latest Paramount picture, “The Top of New York.” Miss McAvoy has the role of a department store girl and is seen as an animated doll in several scenes. Other scenes are enacted on a roof-top and there is a happy blending of comedy and pathos throughout. “The Love Charm,” a jazz-mad comedy starring Wanda Hawley, tells of an amateur vamp who jazzed her way into a man’s heart and then—well, jazz is a wonderful thing. “The Love Charm” registers good comedy throughout and the scenes of the midnight supper and' bathing party are very effective. Mae Busch and Sylvia Ashton are also in the cast. The .plans are at the theatre for tonight.

EMPIRE THEATRE. “ROUND THE WORLD” TO-NIGHT. That it is not necessary to be wealthy to see the world is proved in the wonder picture, “Round the World in Eighty Minutes,” which, is being shown as the big attraction at the Empire Theatre to-night, to-morrow and Saturday. To those who have not strayed from the shores of New Zealand this picture will prove an education as well as an entertainment, while to those who have travelled it will recall boat days and train days without the tedious monotony of travel. From Wellington the spectator goes to Panama, then Newport News, thence to New York, Niagara Falls, on to London, Paris, Doullons, Ypres, Berlin, Gibraltar, Toulon, Naples, Port Said, Colombo, through the Australian ports, and finishes the journey with a flight over Auckland. The picture covers the most important routes of the world, and just pauses long enough at each port to take in the features of interest. There is no dull moments in this ten reel travel picture, and never before has such a wonderful trip been offered to the picture-loving people. Make certain of visiting the I’.mpire Theatre. Admission prices are: Stalls Is, circle Is 6d, children half price.

THE PEOPLE’S. “MAN’S SIZE” TO-NIGHT. “Man’s Size” is the title of the big attraction on to-night’s change of programme at the People’s. William Russell, whose popularity in outdoor roles is widespread, is the star in this picturisation of William McLeod Raine's novel of the same name. Alma Bennett gives a charming portrayal of the girl in the story. The film is said to have heightened the dramatic values possessed by the book. The cast has been specially chosen. The settings are in tiie Canadian Rockies. In “Man’s Size,” patrons of the People’s will find a pleasing evening’s entertainment. The photography is said to be of particular merit. Other films advertised for screening are Sunshine comedy, “Out of Place," starring Al St. John, an interest film, and Fox News. Admission prices at the People’s are 9d and Id 3d.
