WATERSIDE WORK.
STOPPAGE AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Auckland. Dec. 24. All work on the waterfront ceased at noon. The departure of several vessels, including the Komata and Ruapehu, were postponed until Thursday. The water.%idc-rg had proposed to stop work to-day and next Monday at noon, but on representations by the shipping companies they agreed to work till 5 p.m. with the proviso that the oil men v. filing to stop at midday should notify the employers. At 8 o’clock the men started an usual, and later decided that *hev should cease work at midday. The Komata bad loaded between 900 and 1000 cases of fruit from Kewatin for Wellington and Lyttelton. The condition of the fruit will suffer by the delay.
