The Tokio correspondent of the Chicago Tribune says that, owing to the need of drastic economies as the result of the earthquake, the Naval Ministry has voluntarily reduced its Budget by 60 million yen and accepted a special appropriation of 105 millions. Orders for the construction of a first-class cruiser have been cancelled, and it is understood the cancellation of other contracts will probably occur. Other governmental departments expect their appropriations to be stringently reduced. London, Nov. 12. Imports increased by £14,987,678 last month, exports by £10,924,088, and reexports by £2,869,810 on the corresponding period of last year. The principal increases in imports are: Animals for food £2,563,713, other non-dutiabie food and drink £2.606.720, raw cotton £4,M3,348. Increases in exports are: Food and drink £1,058,803, coal £2.117,236, iron steel £2,192,068, cotton yarns and manufactures £1,308,159. The decreases in imports are: Wool £1.721.409, and in exports vehicles £1,999,258. Brussels, Nov. 12, Owing to not receiving satisfaction from Germany with respect to the murder of a Belgian. Lieut. Graff, the Belgian Government has warned Germany that, failing prompt compensation, sanctions will be carried out in the occupied German territory. London, Nov. 12. The noted footballer, Thomas Ball, the Aston Villa Club’s centre-half, was shot dead in Birmingham by his landlord, Stagg, an ex-policeman, following an altercation. London, Nov. 12. The Athens correspondent of the Daily Express says that M. Ouasos, exAnibassador at Washington, visited the King and pointed out that it won!'* help to solve the crisis if His Majesty voluntarily left Greece. The King replied that he would not take the initiative, but would consult the Government and party leaders. General Pangalos declares that the King was mixed up in the recent, revolutions. and ought to leave the country and leave the people free to choose the King and Government they want. London, Nov. 12.
