STOP-WORK MEETING.

A DETRIMENTAL EFFECT By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Nov. 13. The Chamber of Commerce has decided to forward the following remit to the conference of chambers at Auckland: “That the time has arrived when steps should be taken to amend the legislation giving waterside workers authority to hold a stopwork meeting once a month during recognised working hours as the practice is very detrimental to the community.” The remit resulted from the recent conference between the Dunedin and Invercargill chambers and the Importers’ Association.
