It is proposed to bring out lads from 17 to 20 years of age, fresh from the secondary schools, and selected by the Chamber’s representative at Home. The lads would require to receive training in farm work for a minimum of two years, and treated as members of the family, the remuneration for the first six months to be nominal, and afterwards such as the improvement in the work warranted, with a minimum of 15/- per week. REDUCTION IN CHARGES FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF ESTATESTT IS NOTIFIED for public information that important reductions have been made in the commission charged by the Public Trustee for the administration of Estates. Commission on the capital of Estates when realised is now charged according to the following scale: — On the first £5OOO, 2i per cent. On the next £5OOO. 14 per cent. ' On the next £40,000, 1 per cent. On excess of £50,000. J per cent. Ag an exception to this scale, the charge on certain estates of not more than 5 £lOOO in value is— On the first £4OO, 5 per cent. On balance, 24 per cent. Income Charges: The commission charged on rent or on interest on mortgages has been reduced from 5 per cent, to 24 per cent, on amounts in excess of £5OO per annum. The concessions apply to estates under administration by the Public Trustee on the Ist April, 1923, and on estates accepted after that date.
