EVERYBODY’S. ANITA STEWART AND LARRY SEMON. A story with many unusual twists ahinging on one of the most remarkable plots is registered in “Her Mad Bargain” with Anita Stewart at Everybody’s to-night and at both sessions tomorrow. The story tells of a girl who is forced by circnimatanees to leave the secure, comfortable plane of fashionable society and struggle for her very existence in the open mart of the world. As Alice Lambert, the soul of refinement and a person woefully unprepared for commercial strife, Anita Stewart battles life courageously in her attempts to achieve success without Baerifiring her ideals. One of the most sympathetic roles of her career, the part is peculiarly suited to her rare talent of ;mpersonation and is just the type of character in which the public likes best to see her. A second attraction is “The Agent,” an extremely laughable comedy with the inimitable Larry Semou, the great laugh producer. A special matinee screening is advertised for to-morrow at 2.30. Prices of admission are: D.C. Is 6d (plus tax), stalls Is. Children sixpeace to matinee. THE PEOPLE’S. “THE GOLDEN GIFT” TO-NIGHT. The world at her feet, such was Nita Gordon’s fortune at twenty, a fortune which “Irifted with an abruptness cruel enough’ to make Nita’s story a tense and telling drama that, enacted by beautiful Alice Lake, holds the closest interest from start to finish. “The Golden Gift” at The People’s to-night and to-morrow night is a drama of divided devotion and a woman’s fight to win back her own and the world’s approval. It is the story of an opera singer, who, with her own child to support, finds herself thrown upon her own resources through the desertion of her husband. Later, she finds that at the height of' her success the man she loves is the guardian of her child, and what the golden gift really is, is revealed in a most charming manner. For real interest and .entertainment value it would be hard to find a story that excels “The Golden Gift,” for the acting is of the finest quality, and the theme is quite unusual in many respects. Supporting Alice Lake are Joseph Swickard, whose wonderful work in “The Four Horsemen” will never be forgotten, John Bowers and several other artists. Admission prices are: D.C. Is 3d (plus tax), stalls 9d.
