DOCKERS’ STRIKE.
TILBURY MEN STOP WORK. f By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright London, July 23. The strikers, marching from London, reached Tilbury as the dock workers were signing on. They persuaded several hundred to join the strike and work wae consequently stopped on two New Zealand boats, two P. and O. boats, two Clan liners, and several smaller vessels. Those marching returned. to London, leaving pickets. LEADERS EXPELLED. MEN NEGOTIATE DIRECT. Received July 24, 8.50 p.m. London, July 23. Following on the dockers’ repudiation of their leaders, the unofficial strike committee decided to negotiate direct with the employers. It is officially intimated that the leaders have been expelled, and no longer speak on behalf of the strikers.
