HEALING WONDERS.

THE HICKSON MISSION. MORE CURES REPORTED. DEAF, BLIND AND HALT. Many remarkable cures continue to be reported among the cases treated at the Hickson mission at Grafton, states the Sydney Daily Telegraph. The committee in charge of the mission last week issued a report stating that every one of the 139 cases considered had been carefully investigated. “The list includes definite and undoubted cases only. There are others,” adds the report, “that might be described as ‘improved,’ but it is still too early to speak definitely. With one exception many names and addresses are suppressed, the exception being William Mattinson, an old resident of Grafton, 95 years of age, who has been a cripple for 14 years. He walked immediately after the mission and continues to do so. Like Mattinson’s, some of the other cases border on the miraculous. A woman, who suffered from serious heart trouble and was at death’s door, experienced immediate relief and is still improving. A woman who was crippled for some time is now walking about. A child who suffered from asthma for years is cured. A paralysed child is now able to move about. A once-blind man finds his eyesight improving. A little girl who had not stood for years is now walking and gaining strength daily. A woman suffering from severe lameness has been cured. Two children in one home, one deaf and dumb and the other paralysed, show wonderful improvement. A young woman whose eyesight was defective, with one eye turned, has had her eyesight restored and the twisted eye straightened. A child of four years, lame for three years, is completely cured. A little girl from Lismore, crippled for years, is now walking. “A cripple from Rappville, who had to be helped into the Cathedral, no longer uses crutches. A woman suffering from dropsy, and who had undergone 28 operations, drove three miles to church on Sunday. A laborer, suffering from chronic disease in the stomach, has lost all pain and is now able to do a laborer’s work. A middle-aged man who attended the mission with a crutch, now walks without any aid. A woman, paralysed in the legs for three years, now walks slowly. “There are scores of other cases, the majority of them suffering from nerves, neuritis and internal ailments.”

Preaching at a thanksgiving service in the Grafton Cathedral, Archdeacon Tress said it was a marvel that so many wonders had been witnessed.
