ROBERTSON-ORR CASE. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, May 9. When the Presbytery decided to reopen the Robertson-Orf Case he* appealed to the General Assembly against the decision, giving reasons. The committee appointed to defend the Presbytery’s action has submitted replies to these reasons, which were approved. They contend that the charges made against Mrs. Evans were found untrue in court, that the statement that she was no longer a member of St. Andrew’s Church was incorrect, and that the case had long ceased to be a private quarrel and was now a public 'matter. LOAD FALLS OFF CRANE. Christchurch, May 9. While the under-carriage of a locomotive was being hoisted by the Lyttelton Harbour board’s heavy lift crane Vesterduv the straps gave way and the joad of over 14 tons fell heavily, piercing the deck of the scow Kohi and damaging the bulwarks. SAMPLE ROOMS ROBBED. Waipukurau, May 9. Two adjoining sample rooms, owned by E.* Manning, were entered by burglars last night and men’s wear, the property of Arch. Clark and Co., Auckland, and fancy goods, the property of 'Sargood, Son and Ewen, to .the - value of about £l2O stolen. An entrance was made into one sample room by a window, and into the other presumably by a key which was left in the door of the third sample room.
