SUBSTITUTE FOR COCAINE.
RESEARCH TO BE MADE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received April 27, 8.40 p.m. London, April 26. The Ministry of Health, after consulting with the Medical Research Council, is appointing a committee to investigate the comparative value for therapeutic purposes, for which cocaine is now used, of various possible substitutes, and the risks, if any, of their becoming drugs of addiction.
