CANTERBURY MARKETS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Wheat is coming forward fairly freely and the sample and yields, arc good. Farmers have been disinclined to do business at prices offering by millers, namely, 4/4> per bushel at wayside stations, but several substantial lots were sold to-day at Ihai figure, inferior grades being a shade lower. Oats. —Values have eased, and from 2/G to 2/8 is now the ruling quotation for Duns, and Algerians are quoted from 2/6 to 3/- at country stations. Chaff has made a sharp advance. Good '■ bright oaten sheaf is selling at £ 6 IDs f.o.b. , Barley.—Decent-sized lines have been purchased at 5/- per bushel at country stations, secondary quality up to V®Potatoes. —Reports from South Canterbury , and North Otago indicate that a good deal iof blight exists. Quotations for April-May delivery are up io £3 5s per ton at country stations. Perennial and Italian ryegrass are worth from 4/6 to 4/9 to farmees. Cocksfoot taimness is confined to last year’s seed al 9d per lb for machine-dressed. Partridge peas are quoted at iB/- per bushed a* wayside stations, and linseed is quoted nominally at £l4 per ton. The February wool sales opened with :a strong demand for better classes of merinos, which sold fully -equal tb ilate rates, but ordinary and inferior qualities of merinos and fine rrossbreds declined about 5 per cent.
