SEARCH FOR .MR. MURRAY. . ACTIVITIES TO CONTINUE. No further trace has been found or the Rev. William Murray, of Normanby, who has been lost on Mt. Egmont for over a week. The North Egmont house reported last, night that the weather on the mountain yesterday was very bad, rain falling most of the day. Despite the unfavorable conditions the search parties! continued their activities, but returned unsuccessful after a tiring day. Messrs. Murphy and Murray, junr., returned to the North Egmont house at 5 p.m., while Messrs. Turner, Upson and Haldane all had parties out. The search is to be continued to-day. two parties camping at the Kahui hut last night in order to get an early start this morning. A mountain climber points out that Egmont has claimed more victims than any other mountain in the Dominion, if not more than all others together the Wellington Times). Many years ago an alpine climber suggested that owing to the many ravines and ridges where the tracks were obliterated or made alike by storm rain, and anow, there should be some guide by which climbers might reach safety. He suggests a permanent line of concrete pillars with a chain in ths most difficult spots. Nothing has been done to make this a reality. Now is! the opportune time before yet another tragedy brings sorrow in its train. *
