NOhTH TARANAKI PLAY, RESULTS OF SATURDAY'S MATCHES. OLD BOYS WIN EASILY. Play under the auspices of the. North Taranaki Association was continued on Saturday in ideal cricketing weather. Two matches only in the A Grade competition were played, High School being unable to secure a team to meet Western Park, and this match will probably be played on Thursday. Old Boys had a very easy win over Inglewood at the Sports Ground, while Urenui were to meet Waitara at Waltara. New Plymouth had a bye. In the B Grade, New Plymouth B met High School and Wanderers met Harbor Works. RESULTS AT A GLANCE. A Grade. Old Boys defeated Inglewood. Western Park v. High School, not played. New Plymouth, a bye. B Grade. Wanderers defeated Harbor Works. New Plymouth B defeated High School 11. A GRADE. OLD BOYS DEFEAT INGLEWOOD. The bowling of Osborne and Bottrill was too much for the Inglewood XI, which met Old Boys at the New Plymouth sportsground, the whole team being disposed of for 27 runs, the bowlers mentioned taking five wickets for 12 runs and five for 11. respectively. In the same fashion as they disposed of Inglewood’s wickets, Old Boys knocked up runs, having only five wlekets down for $5l when stumps were drawn. Palmer opened the Innings with 48, Including several fours, and with Eggleton and Monteath was largely responsible for the high score. In a two-innlngs match at Western Park, the Wanderers defeated Harbor Works by six wickets. Harbor Works batted first for a total of 45 (Fitzpatrick 15, G. Carey 11), Wanderers replying with' 43 (E. Hoffmann 11). In the second strike Harbor Works made 46 (G. Carev 17, Kinsella 12). For the loss of four wicki ets, the Wanderers were able to make the runs necessary to give them a win, Jenkins with 16 (Including a couple of fours) being responsible for a good part of the total. Bowling for the Wanderers, Bishop took five wickets for six runs in the first innings and E. Hoffmann two for 7, the latter also accounting for five wickets for 7 runs in the second innings. For Harbor Works, Kinsella, G. Carey and T. Carey shared the bowling honors, G. Carey taking four wickets for 7 runs and T. Carey five for 19 in the first innings. NEW PLYMOUTH V. HIGH SCHOOL. New Plymouth B met the High School second eleven at the racecourse and won bj' 45 runs. School made 28 runs in the first innings and 70 in the second, New Plymouth making 62 and 81, respectively. For the School, M’Lean (20), F. Fookes (16) and Petty (13) batted well, as did Stephenson (24) for New Plymouth.

SOUTHERN DIVISION. MIDLANDS DEFEAT STRATFORD. At Stratford on Saturday, Stratford, the leading club in the southern competition, was beaten by Midlands in the first innings by 67 to 21. The batting in the first innings on each side was poor, but the bowling was exceptionally ‘good. Midlands won the toss and Stratford went to the wickets to go out cheaply for 21 runs, the score being Beere’s 5. Midlands did better in their first attempt, making 67. Nichol (17), Reading (11) and Grindlay (10) being the double figure scorers. STRATFORD. First Innings.
