At a sports meeting, the sprinter Carr easily won the 100 yards race in 10 2-5 seconds, and the 220 yards in 24 seconds. The five miles cycling championship of New South Wales resulted : W. Coppins 1. A. Scotten 2, H. Langford 3. Time, 13 min. 4 sec. Perth, Feb. 4. The 440 yards swimming championship of Australia resulted: Harris (Hawaii) 1, M. Christie (Sydney) 2, H. Taylor (Western Australia) 3. Won comfortably. Time, 5 min. 35 see. Sydney, Feb. 4. At the Stadium, J. Coles knocked out Daniels, middleweight champion, in the seventh round. Up' to the time he received the knock-out Daniels made a good showing.
