THE PEOPLE'S.

“STANLEY IN AFRICA” TO-DAY

An alluring, incense perfumed romance of the exotic and colorful East peopled with voluptuous, dark-eyed harem beauties and the lawless desert rovers is “The Tiger’s Coat,” which screens today and to-night at the People’s. Crammed to overflowing with breath catching adventures, plots and counter plots, swiftly moving action and a deftly woven love interest, the story revolves round a young Mexican girl, who determines to assume the identity of a pureblooded white girl. Tina Modotti, an Italian beauty, who has only recently taken up screen work in America, is seen as the fascinating little heroine of the story. Miss Myrtle Stedman has never given a more finished or subtle performance than in “The Tiger’s Coat,” and Lawson Butt is particularly good as a strong-willed man. The supporting films include: Episode 1 of “With Stanley in Africa,” Hallroom Boy comedy and Topicals. Admission prices are as usual. EVERYBODY’S. MATINEE TO-DAY AT 2 P.M. As vitally dramatic a picture as the screen has s seen in some time is “Man and Woman,” which is showin" at both sessions at Everybody’s to-day, and which presents charming Diana Allen in a role especially calculated to bring out her versatile ability and to give her charming personality full opportunity. She is ably supported by Joe King, an actor expecially fine in heavy dramatic roles, and a noteworthy cast. The story abounds in thrilling moments and set in the Island of Tahiti, the most beautiful scenery is everywhere evident. The supports include the fourth episode of “Nan of the North.” The new bill for screening Monday and Tuesday will bo headed by the English special feature, “Kissing Cups Race.” with Violet Hopson starred. This is one of the most popular pictures ever released in the Dominion, and will be shown. at Everybody’s at the usual prices. KING’S THEATRE, STRATFORD. Commencing at the matinee performance this afternoon, the latest Paramount comedy on married life entitled “Is Matrimony a Failure?” interpreted by an all-star cast will be shown.. It is a* picture which strikes a high note in the register. The fun is wholesome, and the story shows just what would happen if through some legal technicality, about fifty per cent, of the married men of a town suddenly discovered that, after having lived half their lives as husbands, they are not really married at all, and are as free as, the ! birds in the air. “Is Matrimony a Failure ?” is one of the very best pictures on the matrimonial subject that has been presented to any audience.
