AN INTER-CLUB MATCH. NEW PLYMOUTH v. PARK. The first inter-club match of the season In New Plymouth took place yesterday afternoon, when teams representing the New Plymouth and Park clubs met on tho lAirk Club’s lawns. Interesting matches were played, and" the result was a victory for New Plymouth by 33 points. A return match will be played on the New Plymouth lawns next Wednesday. A golf croquet tournament will take place on the New Plymouth lawns this afternoon, commencing at 2 o’clock. TARANAKI ASSOCIATION ANNUAL TOURNAMENT. The second annual croquet tournament, commencing at Now Plymouth on February 13, gives every indication of being a most successful function. That, croquet is firmly established in Taranaki was proved by the initial tournament held last, year,-at which most of tho provincial clubs were represented. The play was good throughout, and the several matches and championships were keenly contested. Entries for this year’s tournament closed a few days ago. and in all the contests splendid nominations have been received. The draw for places will be made on Monday next and published on Tuesday. The Association have made arrangements to use the New Plymouth Park and Fltzroy lawns, and every detail to make the tournament enjoyable and successful is receiving careful at'enlion.
